Let it dry and then take a small knife and chip it off. Don't try and wipe it off before it dries. Second, just let the glue dry on the tuner shaft. Glue will not stick to a waxy surface it says so on the directions, so you use this characteristic to your advantage. There are two tricks to this: First, take a dab of floor wax, or car wax and rub it around the opening, being careful not to get any inside. I use epoxy glue to hold the tuner in place. I used to fake it with a small round rifler rasp but it's not the right way to do the job. The Stew-Mac reamer, as Helix says, is also the way to go. I'm treating myself to a set of Waverly tuners to replace the OK-but-not-great tuners that came with the banjo, and I'm wondering about the fifth string tuner I'm assuming that the headstock tuners will be a matter of taking off the nut on the old ones and installing new ones (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
